The Center for Education and Research in Construction (CERC) is the locus of research, scholarship, and discovery at the UW’s Department of Construction Management (CM). While the CM department has a rich history of connecting with industry through research and education, the Center was formalized in 2009 with the opening of our fabulous Sandpoint facility and the inauguration of The Pacific Northwest Center for Construction Research and Education (PNCCRE). In January 2015 the PNCCRE was renamed the Center for Education and Research in Construction (CERC).
CERC’s Executive Director, Dr. Carrie Dossick, Professor in the Department of Construction Management, is responsible for the development and implementation of the Center to meet the needs of the CM faculty and students and the Center’s partners.
The CERC Sandpoint facility features 25,000 square feet of space on two levels, providing a unique home for research and training in several areas including Virtual Construction, Methods and Material, and Construction Education.
