KMEW Co. Ltd. is a manufacturer of building materials headquartered in Japan. This posting is for a full-time position at KMEW’s representative office in the United States, which has the role of developing, supporting and expanding KMEW’s presences in the US. The ideal candidate will be adaptable to a wide variety of duties and excited by the opportunity to join a company in the early stages of expansion in the US market. The position is located in Redmond, Washington and will require occasional travel within the Pacific Northwest and infrequent travel throughout the United States. (3-4 over nights per month)

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper installation for individual projects by providing answers to clients; identifying problems; researching answers; visiting job-sites; providing on-site support; attending construction meetings; guiding through corrective steps.
  • Read construction plans and prepare material quotes for internal use.
  • Generate details using CAD and/or related software
  • Support KMEW’s expansion in the United States by collaborating with the local team and business partners to anticipate and meet challenges.
  • Interpret and summarize correspondence critical to the business.
  • Improve client reference material and documentation by writing and maintaining documents.
  • Improve product performance and quality of installation by identifying problems; collecting information from clients; recommending changes and updating technical manuals and guidelines.
  • Ensure products and practices to be in compliance with codes and regulations by preparing permit applications, analyzing code requirements and coordinating laboratory experiments.
  • Prepare and implement technical training programs for installers/clients; identify and qualify installers, organize groups of approved installers in each regional market; and maintain them.
  • Support marketing activities from technical perspective by collecting information; identifying market trends; joining meetings; summarizing and providing reports, graphs and presentations; identifying new products and researching competitive products; updating and maintaining web-site, brochure and catalog.
  • Update job related knowledge by reading professional and trade publications; maintaining professional networks.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (Science, Architecture or Construction related degree preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • General Knowledge of the construction industry (1 – 3 years’)
  • Ability to understand construction plans, specifications and related documents
  • Ability to understand and explain technical information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows
  • Data analysis and data entry skills & Customer service skills
  • Valid WA state driver’s license and vehicle (position will require some travel in personal car)
