Project Engineers needed – Portland, OR and Woodinville, WA

The Project Engineer works within the Project Management team which is responsible to plan and oversee the project and to ensure its timely, cost effective and high quality outcome. The Project Management team can vary greatly depending on the size and complexity of the project, which in turn affects the number and scope of responsibilities the Project Engineer is involved in during any project.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Learn, understand and adhere to company safety policies and programs, including the ability to independently stop work for a safety violation or suspected safety violation
  • Maintain an understanding of the contract including Sierra’s contractual obligations and the owner’s obligations
  • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes
  • Assist the Project Manager with subcontract negotiation and administration
  • Correspond with owners, clients, consultants and subcontractors
  • Assist in preparing job schedules
  • Effectively prioritize and manage the administrative workload – organize and manage Submittals, RFI’s and Shop Drawings
  • Review Shop Drawings for coordination with trades and compliance with contract documents
  • Assist in conducting complete and accurate quantity take offs
  • Assemble close out documentation
  • Maintain project management files and logs in Timberline
  • Approve invoices and applications for payment

Skills and Abilities:

  • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office Products
  • Sage 300 CRE (Timberline)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good time management skills and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated work ethic
  • Function effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and subcontractors

  Education and Experience:

  •  Bachelors Degree – Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent
  • 1 to 5 years of multi-family experience
