Job description:
Under the supervision of the Community Development Director, this position reviews and inspects residential, commercial, and industrial building construction drawings for compliance with applica-ble building-related codes and responds to inquiries relative to such code requirements, with a pri-mary focus on single family residential development. The position also coordinates with other staff from a variety of disciplines to ensure compliance with City codes related to construction activities.

Experience & Education

This is a technical specialist position requiring ICC certification (or the ability to obtain such certifi-cations within the probation period), and at least three years of practical experience in the building trades or similar government experience. Completion of college or trade school level course work in the building trades is highly desirable.

Classification

Non-exempt, Union position. Starting salary is $4,634/month. Salary range is $4,634—$5,215/month.
