Position Overview
This position is for a Project Manager/Estimator with an appreciation for quality, efficiency, teamwork, and good salesmanship. Responsibilities include estimating and securing assigned projects, project management, preparing schedules & budgets, and working with a management staff toward innovative business growth strategies.
Essential Job Functions
 Prepare and submit bids for assigned projects according to customers’ specifications and follow up on submitted bids in a timely fashion in an effort to be awarded the work
 Analyze plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare timely cost and labor estimates for job budgets
 Examine project documents to determine and produce requested product and other technical documentation
 Plan, organize, and strategically control activities of each assigned project to ensure the company’s marketing position, financial goals, and mission are served
 Ensure contractual terms and obligations reflect in the company’s best quality work and further ensure contractual terms and obligations are maintained throughout the course of a project
 Continuously identify and coordinate implementation of valuable cost-saving and/or quality-enhancement measures to meet profit objectives while maintaining company’s competitive market share
 Take measures to promote the company to new customers while maintaining repeat business from established customer base
 Engage in problem solving for ongoing projects in an effort to maintain efficient and profitable workflow on the job site
 Collect and analyze daily production data from job sites to measure project progress
 Prepare required documents in order to conduct pre-construction and post-construction meeting with the Foremen
 Communicate with Foremen about manpower needs and staff projects as needed while serving budget needs
 Responsible for hiring and termination of field personnel
 Visit jobsites regularly and walk with the Foremen for the purpose of identifying potential safety hazards, quality controls and labor saving opportunities
 Comply with established office procedures while providing input for continuous process improvement
 As with many small businesses, our employees must wear many hats. All employees are expected to plan and complete projects related to the business’s development as assigned.

Qualifications
 Proficient command of verbal and written communication, active listening, and efficient time management
 Critical problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation, and conflict management skills
 Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personnel services, including customer assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
 Strong computer skills, must be able to operate Windows, Microsoft Office Applications, On-Center On-Screen Takeoff™ and Quick Bid™
 Ability to be result- and solution-focused, yet deeply attentive to details
 Ability to work cooperatively contributing to the success of a team environment, as well as work independently, taking autonomous initiative to seek out new responsibilities/challenges in a free-structured, entrepreneurial environment
 Ability to effectively manage high stress situations and operate effectively under pressure
 Ability to provide punctual, dependable work attendance, and operate efficiently without supervision
 4-year degree in construction management or similar coursework and training required
 Prior experience in the construction industry required
 Valid Washington State Driver’s license required

General Physical Requirements
 Requires ability to move throughout the office and job sites. Must be able to lift and carry office equipment and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds. Position requires hand manipulative skills for word processing, 10-key and writing. Must be able to hear verbal conversations over the phone and in-person with background noise. Must have visual ability to consistently identify objects and persons at a distance and read fine print on records and forms. Ability to speak clearly and make oneself understood in a one-on-one basis and in a varied of informal group settings.
